Overview

Minibase ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a browser extension that converts webpages to Markdown format. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Email address: Only if you subscribe to Minibase Plus in the Chrome or Firefox extension. Used solely for subscription management and payment processing through Stripe. Subscriptions bought in the Safari extension go through Apple's In-App Purchase and don't require an email address.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage count: We track the number of free conversions locally in your browser to enforce the free tier limit. This data never leaves your device.
  • Anonymous usage analytics: We collect anonymous interaction data such as button clicks and feature usage within the extension (e.g. "Save as Markdown clicked", "download completed"). This helps us improve Minibase. No personal information, browsing history, or page content is included. Each user is assigned a random anonymous identifier — we cannot identify you from this data.

Information We Process (But Don't Store)

  • Webpage content: When you convert a page, the content is sent to our API for AI processing. This content is processed in real-time and is NOT stored on our servers after the conversion is complete.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions bought in the Chrome and Firefox extensions. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
  • Apple: Payment processing for subscriptions bought in the Safari extension, through Apple's In-App Purchase. We never see your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy
  • Google (Gemini API): Webpage content processing. Content is sent to Gemini for conversion to Markdown but is not retained. See Google's Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare Workers: API hosting and subscription data storage
  • PostHog: Anonymous product analytics, hosted in the EU. See PostHog's Privacy Policy

Data Security

  • All API communications use HTTPS encryption
  • Subscription data is stored in Cloudflare KV with encryption at rest
  • We never store your webpage content
  • We never sell your data to third parties

Your Rights

You can:

  • Delete your data: Uninstall the extension to remove all local data. Contact us to delete subscription data.
  • Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of your subscription information.
  • Cancel subscription: Manage through Stripe (Chrome, Firefox) or through your Apple account settings (Safari), or contact us.

Children's Privacy

Minibase is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the extension or by email (for subscribers).
